Manchester City will reportedly join the race to sign RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo next summer, with a whole host of European heavyweights thought to be interested in the player.
According to Fichajes, the Blues will face competition from Spanish giants Barcelona, who are said to be admirers of the Spain international. The report adds that Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are also monitoring his situation.
Olmo – whose contract in Germany expires in June 2024 – has scored 18 goals and assisted 21 more in 102 Leipzig appearances since joining from Dinamo Zagreb in 2020.
The 24-year-old has made 24 appearances for Spain, recording four goals and six assists for his country. Whether or not City make a move for Olmo could depend on the future of Bernardo Silva.
Elsewhere, AS report that City offered Raheem Sterling to La Liga outfit Real Madrid before the England international joined Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer.
The report claims that Sterling was one of Madrid’s top targets, but Los Blancos were unable to sign him as they had already filled their non-EU quota in the squad.
The 27-year-old – who scored 131 goals in 339 appearances for City during his time at the Etihad – has already played under two different managers at Stamford Bridge, with Graham Potter replacing Thomas Tuchel after the German coach was dismissed.
Sterling has registered four goals and two assists in 16 outings for the London club so far this term, but is yet to come up against his former side.
