Real Madrid have renewed the contract of 20-year-old Castilla player Peter Federico.
The deal was signed on Tuesday, with all parties happy about the outcome of the negotiations, which were heavily affected by the high level of interest in the striker.
Federico had a contract until 2024 and, after this extension, he maintains his release clause of 50 million euros.
His salary changes with the new deal though. The club wanted to reward his development and his potential with a salary increase that will place him in the top group of those currently with Castilla.
He had many suitors
In Spain, teams like Getafe, Celta Vigo, Osasuna and Espanyol had asked the club and/or the player’s representatives about his situation.
As had Feyenoord, who presented the youngster with an opportunity to leave LaLiga Santander.
If he fulfils his contract, Federico, who arrived at La Fabrica in 2015, will have been with the club for 10 years.
His achievements during this period include winning the Youth League with Raul in 2020 and debuting at San Mames with the first team.
