Everton are prepared to listen to offers for Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes.
Gomes, 28, is believed to be one of the Merseyside club’s highest earners as he is on a salary of around £100,000 a week.
Speculation surrounding his future has grown as he has not played a single minute of any of Everton’s friendlies during their pre-season tour of the United States.
Gomes is not thought to be injured as he has been training with Frank Lampard’s squad in the US.
The combative central midfielder was once considered an integral part of the Everton side and was rushed back from his horror ankle injury sustained against Tottenham in November 2019.
But he now appears set to leave the club in the summer, should Everton receive a suitable offer for his services.
Gomes made just 14 appearances in the Premier League for the Toffees last season as the club narrowly avoided the ignominy of relegation to the Championship.
He has played in a total of 100 matches since joining Everton from Barcelona in a £22million deal three years ago.
Elsewhere, Everton are closing in on the signing of former Wolves left-back Ruben Vinagre.
The 23-year-old Sporting Lisbon defender was at Everton’s Finch Farm on Tuesday for his medical ahead of agreeing a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent.
