Presnel Kimpembe

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly slapped a £42million price tag on Chelsea target Presnel Kimpembe.

Thomas Tuchel is aiming to bolster his defence this summer and has turned his attentions to the French centre-back after securing the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

Manchester City’s Nathan Ake, who came through the academy at Stamford Bridge, is also a target for the Blues.

According to the Independent, PSG are willing to sell Kimpembe to Chelsea, but the Premier League side are currently around £17million away from his £42milion price tag with negotiations ongoing.

Juventus are also in discussions with the Ligue 1 champions over a move for the 26-year-old, who has 28 caps for France.

But Foot Mercato claim that if Kimpembe was to leave PSG, he would have a preference to join Chelsea over the Serie A side.

He has worked with Thomas Tuchel before during the German’s two-and-a-half-year spell in charge at the Parc des Princes.

Following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen – and with Cesar Azpilicueta also keen on a move away – Tuchel is in need of centre-back reinforcements.

Kimpembe has spent his whole career at PSG, having joined at the age of nine, and has made 221 appearances for the club to date.
