Charles de Ketelaere

Serie A giants AC Milan are advancing in talks for Leeds United target Charles de Ketelaere from Bruges.

The 21-year-old is tipped to become the next big talent to emerge from Belgium and has attracted interest from several top-flight clubs as a result.

Therefore, AC Milan will have to battle it out with the likes of Leeds to sign the 6ft 3ins midfielder – who scored 15 goals for his club and country last season.

De Ketelaere is a versatile player with quick feet and a strong left foot. He prefers playing behind the striker but can play on either wing also and has an eye for goal.

Therefore, AC Milan are looking to hijack Leeds United’s pursuit of the midfielder as they are eager to give their attack a new dimension ahead of the 2022-2023 season.

However, Leeds hope that the lure of the Premier League can help persuade the youngster to link up with coach Jesse Marsch.

De Ketelaere can provide versatility for Leeds who have also discussed signing Wolves star Adama Traore and Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven.

Leeds also want to sign another midfielder, a left-back and an experienced goalkeeper with former Watford keeper Ben Foster one name under consideration.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are also closing in on a deal for Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech.

Ziyech, who has been at Chelsea for two years, isn’t a key part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the 2022-2023 campaign and has been told he will be allowed to leave.

In total Ziyech has made 83 appearances for Chelsea, during which he has scored 14 goals and provided ten assists.
