Eddie Nketiah

According to a source, Arsenal will make one more try to convince striker Eddie Nketiah to extend his stay beyond the summer.

The 22-year-contract old’s with the North London club expires in June, and he has previously refused many contract extensions offered by the club.

Nketiah is demanding assurances about his first-team chances at the Emirates Stadium, particularly if Arsenal opt to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, as has been rumored recently.

Despite previously struggling to secure a regular first-team position for Arsenal, the striker has started four straight games since leading the line against Southampton in April.

Due to his improved opportunities and form, the Daily Mail reports that Arsenal’s leadership will make one more push to persuade Nketiah to sign a new agreement, extending his tenure.

However, the story details how Nketiah is reportedly holding out until the conclusion of the season to negotiate his future, with numerous teams reportedly interested in signing him on a free transfer, including Crystal Palace.

Following his recent inclusion in Arsenal’s starting lineup, the England Under-21s international has made 17 Premier League appearances this season, scoring two goals, both of which came in Arsenal’s recent 4-2 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
