Atletico Madrid has been charged with discrimination over their fans’ behavior during their Champions League match against Manchester City.
During Tuesday’s quarter-final first-leg tie at City’s Etihad Stadium, supporters of the Spanish team seemed to make Nazi salutes.
UEFA stated on Friday that it has initiated disciplinary procedures against Atletico Madrid, charging the team with discriminatory behavior and object throwing.
The subject will be decided by UEFA‘s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) in due course.
City lead 1-0 going into next week’s second leg in Madrid, courtesy of a Kevin De Bruyne goal in the 70th minute.
