AS Roma suffered yet another defeat at the hands of Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the quarter-final of their Europa Conference League clash on Thursday night.

The Italians were thrashed 6-1 in the group stage and had another tough time as they went down 2-1 despite taking the lead.

Lorenzo Pellegrini found the back of the net in the 43rd minute, but Ulrik Saltnes equalised 10 minutes into the second period.

Rui Patricio was at fault for the equaliser, allowing Saltnes’ strike to easily spin past him.

With the match seemingly headed for a draw, Hugo Vetlesen scored the winner in the 90th minute to frustrate Jose Mourinho once again.

The Italians will however be favourites when the two sides meet at the Stadio Olimpico in the return match next week.

In another match, Dimitri Payet starred as Marseille narrowly beat PAOK 2-1.

The Frenchman set up Gerson to put the hosts in front in the 13th minute, before scoring the second just before the break to give the hosts a 2-0 half-time lead.

PAOK however pulled one back three minutes into the second period to leave the tie hanging in the balance ahead of next week’s return match.

Elsewhere, Leicester City were held to a scoreless draw by PSV, while Feyernhood played out a high-scoring 3-3 draw against Slavia Praha.

Thursday night results;

  • Bodo/Glimt 2-1 AS Roma
  • Leicester 0-0 PSV
  • Feyernhood 3-3 Slavia Praha
  • Marseille 2-1 PAOK
