Atletico Madrid were dominated and beaten squarely by Manchester City on Tuesday night in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
Kevin De Bruyne scored the only goal in the second half to hand Pep Guardiola’s men the win ahead of the reverse fixture. Madrid is one of the teams in the world that can defend half a goal but they had a shocking performance on Tuesday.
The LaLiga side failed to register a single shot in the first opening 45 minutes for the first time in the Champions League since 2003/4.
After 90 minutes of play, El Cholo’s men could not test City’s keeper Ederson, the first time they’ve ever failed to do so under Simeone.
