Manchester United

With the World Cup qualifiers behind us, attention now shifts to domestic action this weekend.

In the English Premier League, the title race is set to continue, as is the battle for a top-four finish.

Manchester United, currently sitting sixth, will be hoping to build on their win last time out, a dramatic 3-2 victory over Tottenham, to squeeze into the pack.

The Red Devils will host  Brendan Rodgers’ improving Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

What is the latest in team news?

Edinson Cavani is a major doubt after picking up an injury in Uruguay’s World Cup qualifier clash against Chile on Tuesday night.

In Europe, it was a relief for Man United to see Paul Pogba back in the team, as a substitute against South Africa on Tuesday night. The midfielder had initially been a doubt due to a foot problem.

Luke Shaw, who has not appeared for the Reds since the goalless draw with Watford in February, was in the England team for two friendly matches and did score a superb goal against Switzerland at Wembley.

No further injury news to report on, which is a massive boost for coach Ralf Rangnick.

Leicester News

Rodgers looks certain to be without both Jamie Vardy and Marc Albrighton, who are nearing full fitness following injuries.

Jonny Evans, who featured for the first time in 2022 against Brentford last time out, is expected to start against his former side.

Wesley Fofana could make his first start of the season after recovering from a long injury, while Ademola Lookman, who was out due to Covid-19 should also be available.
