Darwin Nunez

Tottenham will target Benfica striker Darwin Nunez if they lose Harry Kane in the summer.

Kane has been linked with a move away from the club with Manchester United said to be interested in acquiring his services in the new season.

Benfica wants to balance their books and are will sell the player for a fee in the region of €80 million if a suitor can be found.

Other clubs have been linked to the 22-year-old in recent weeks, including Spurs’ local rivals Arsenal who are in the market for a striker too to replace the outgoing Alexander Lacazette.

Kane almost forced a move last summer after it became clear that Manchester City wanted him; a move that saw him miss his club’s first games of the season. The late return saw him start the season in a slow fashion but he has once again proved his prowess in front of goal with some vital strikes in recent games as his club fight for a Champions League spot.

Spurs are not expected to allow the player to leave easily as they feel he will be vital for them should they qualify for the European competition.
