Luis Enrique

Spain coach Luis Enrique has responded to reports linking him with a move to Manchester United in the summer.

United are in the hunt for a permanent coach at the end of the season, with Ralf Rangnick set to leave his interim role. Enrique has been identified as a potential coach to take over at Old Trafford but the former Barcelona coach has ruled out a possible move at the end of the season.

“I will be in Qatar with Spain because I have given my word and there is nothing that makes me more excited than representing my country in the World Cup. Later, we’ll see,” he said.

“And even more so with this national team and with this federation. I can say it louder, but not more clearly. I’m where I want to be.”

Other candidates

Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are also frontrunners in the race for the Old Trafford dugout.
