Erik ten Hag

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag is the favorite to be named the new permanent Manchester United manager after being interviewed for the job.

The Dutchman together with PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino has been billed as the favorites to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but according to the Daily Mail, the former is now the clear favorite for the job.

United is said to have been impressed by the 52-year-old who has done a lot of good work in the Netherlands with Ajax since taking charge of the team back in 2017, famously guiding them to the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2018/19.

He has also been credited for helping nurture the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt during his successful stint in Amsterdam and United believe he is the man to turn the club’s fortunes around.

While the process of finding a new manager has been muted by the club officials, Daily Mail reveals that Ten Hag was interviewed on Monday and Ajax wont stand on his way should he get the Old Trafford job.

Apart from Pochettino, other managers who have been linked with the job include Luis Enrique and Thomas Tuchel though the duo won’t be interviewed for the seat.
