Laliga giants FC Barcelona are open to extending the contract of winger Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman’s current deal expires in the summer and his refusal to extend his stay had placed him at loggerheads with the club’s officials who vowed never to include him in the first team until manager Xavi arrived.
Under Xavi, Ousmane Dembele has been one of the most consistent players and starred in the club’s last outing against bitter rivals Real Madrid whom they beat 4-0.
PSG is one of the clubs said to be interested in signing the player but according to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, Barca plans to walk back to the negotiating table to talk extension with Ousmane Dembele.
Barcelona vice president Rafa Yuste tells Cat Radio: “If Ousmane Dembélé continues to feel comfortable, we can meet his agents and he could stay”. 🔴 #FCB
“We are working to the best of our abilities to keep Gavi and Araújo at the club. I am optimistic. The players are happy”.

The French media outlet also reports that PSG has a verbal agreement with the 24-year-old. The information adds that Dembelé’s entourage will remain inflexible on its initial request, an annual wage of €20-million that includes salary and bonus.
PSG are looking for a replacement for Ángel Di María who is said to be on his way out of the club after growing frustrated due to lack of proper game time.
