Premier League side Manchester United have received a boost in their bid to hire Paul Mitchell this summer as a director is set to leave his role at Monaco.
French portal L’Equipe reports that Mitchell is being relieved of his sporting director duties at Monaco and would like to return to the Premier League in the summer.
Mitchell, who has worked at Southampton and Tottenham with Mauricio Pochettino, has a great reputation in England and there are thoughts that he might be employed at Old Trafford as the club looks to revamp the side.

His closeness with United interim manager Ralf Rangnick might be a factor too as the German wants to work with people he has had an association with before as they look to work closely with the first team.
Apart from Mitchell, Monaco is said to be on a revamping mode of their own and will likely part ways with vice-president Oleg Petrov and manager Philippe Clement at the end of the season.
