Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita picked up a knee injury during his side’s 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup quarter-final.
Keita was set to link up with the Guinea team this week ahead of the international break but will now sit out the upcoming matches. Guinea FA confirmed the midfielder did not travel as he is nursing a knee injury.
The 27-year-old was subbed off in the second half, and replaced by Jordan Henderson.
Keita has featured prominently since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations in late January, starting four of Liverpool’s last six Premier League games and also coming on from the bench in both legs of the Champions League round of 16 tie against Inter Milan.
