Rodri is in line for a fresh contract extension at Manchester City, which would extend his stay beyond the end of his current agreement in 2024.

After adjusting to the Premier League’s demands following his summer 2019 arrival, the Spain international has quietly grown into one of the division’s best ball-playing defensive midfielders.

Rodri is currently one of the first names on Guardiola’s squad sheet, having made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and providing an assist from midfield.

The significance of the 25-year-old is evident in the fact that he now has the most successful passes in the Premier League (2,087), with his metronomic distribution laying the groundwork for so many Man City threats.

Rodri’s current contract is slated to expire in June 2024, and the Cityzens are reportedly considering extending it and locking him down for the long haul.

The Spaniard’s extension would be the latest in a series of contract extensions at the club this season, with Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Ederson, and John Stones all committing their futures recently.
