Jurgen Klopp has stated that he will have to work with many COVID-19 cases ahead of Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Reds, who were hit by an epidemic in January that turned out to be primarily false positives, are looking to cut the deficit on leaders Manchester City to three points at the Amex Stadium.

Although fewer coronavirus infections have been reported around the Premier League in recent weeks, Klopp has admitted that he now has some new cases in his locker room.

At his pre-match press conference, the German said:

We have a few little things, COVID is also not over. We try everything to avoid it but it is not really possible. Players and staff had no symptoms, but they can’t be involved. We will see.

On a more positive note, Klopp revealed that Roberto Firmino would return to the team for Saturday’s encounter following a muscle injury.
