Chelsea put aside their off-the-pitch troubles aside by thrashing Norwich City 3-1 in a rescheduled Premier League game on Thursday night.

The Blues were two goals up within fifteen minutes with goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Mason Mount both. Chalobah’s handball presented Teemu Pukki with a chance from the spot, which he happily took to half the deficit but Kai Havertz rifled into the top corner with minutes remaining to put the result beyond doubt.

In another match of the night, Wolves kept their European hopes alive with a 4-0 win over Watford 4-0 at the Molineux.

Raul Jimenez broke the deadlock just after 13 minutes with Watford shooting themselves in the foot five minutes later when Cucho Hernandez prodded into his own net to give his side an uphill task. It was 3-0 with just 20 minutes gone as Daniel Podence pounced on an awful mistake by Ben Foster, who passed the ball out to him from a clearance. And Ruben Neves sealed the win with an audacious lob.

Newcastle United continued their stunning run of form under Eddie Howe with a 2-1 win away at Southampton.

Stuart Armstrong gave the hosts a deserving lead with the final touch from close range after a bundle inside the area.

Chris Wood then got on the end of a Jonjo Shelvey to restore parity with new signing Bruno Guimaraes netting with a brilliant back-heel to bag what proved to be the winner in the match.
