Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted back at Carrington but reports indicate that he didn’t train with the first team.

The Telegraph indicates that the Portuguese have not trained since the 4-1 defeat on Sunday which he missed through injury.

The player is a serious doubt for United’s weekend game against Tottenham Hotspur as the club feels there is no hurry in having him back as they gear for a Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid next week.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick is expected to give a clear picture of the player’s situation when he addresses the media on Friday with United heading into the game low of confidence following a spate of disappointing results.

United have already beaten Spurs 3-0 this season when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deployed both Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani up front but neither could be fit for the tie as the latter is just returning from injury too.
