Robert Moreno

Granada have fired head coach Robert Moreno following a nine-game winless streak in LaLiga, and Ruben Torrecilla will take over.

The LaLiga side has spent most of the decade in the top flight, with the exception of two years in the Segunda Division from 2017 to 2019. They are now in danger of relegation.

The club confirmed Moreno’s departure following Saturday’s 3-1 loss to midtable Valencia.

Granada are presently 17th in LaLiga, three points ahead of 18th-placed Alaves, who have picked up only one point in their last seven league games.

Moreno, who previously served as an interim coach at Monaco and Spain, had been in charge of Nuevo Los Carmenes since 2021.

Ruben Torrecilla of Recreativo Granada will serve as interim head coach until the end of the season.
