Just another day, just another praise for one man. Former Chelsea footballer Joe Cole has lauded the return of N’Golo Kante to his best form.
The French star was at the heart of Chelsea’s impressive beating Lille 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League last 16 first leg on Wednesday night.
According to Joe Cole, there was clearly one player who was the driving force in the Chelsea team, his name is Kante.
“Kante was outstanding and it’s so many times now when we have seen him in Champions League nights where he has driven the team forward,” Cole said on BT Sport.
“Honesty from a football manager should be a given but so many of them get so protective of their team.
“He has clear boundaries with his players, he [Tuchel] probably thought Kante was slightly off it the last two games and he was happy he was on it tonight.
“I don’t think there is a midfielder as influential as him in our league for the last 10 years. Everything he does is so good and when he plays well, you win,” the former England star concluded.
Coming up next for Kante and co. is the Carabao Cup final against the mighty Liverpool this weekend.
