Chelsea FC goalkeeper Edouard Mendy made history in the Champions League following his clean sheet against Lille on Tuesday night.
The Blues ran 2-0 winners in the game to boost their chances of making it to the quarterfinals of the competition and by not allowing a goal, the Senegalese have now gone to keep 14 clean sheets in his 18 starts in the competition.
Stats from Opata indicate that this is the highest clean-sheet ratio of any goalkeeper with 5+ starts in the competition’s history.

Mendy has had a good outing for the Blue since arriving last year where he has won almost every trophy he has participated in. Apart from winning the Champions League last year, he has already won the African Cup of Nations and FIFA Club World Cup this year to add to his accolades.
