Gabon have been handed a major boost ahead of their second Africa Cup of Nations group match against Ghana on Friday following the return of talisman and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Arsenal forward missed the Les Panthères’ opening match, a 1-0 win over Comoros, and will be hunting for a second win that will send them through to the knockout phase.
Aubameyang, who is out of favour at the London club, alongside Mario Lemina both tested positive last week, and their availability is a big relief for coach Patrice Neveu.
Neveu is however still unavailable as he continues with self-isolation following a positive test.
Gabon’s last match of the group will be against Morocco on January 18, 2022.
