Francis Kimanzi

Kenyan Premier League moneybags Wazito FC have confirmed the sacking of head coach Francis Kimanzi and his entire backroom staff.

Wazito has struggled this season and finds themselves in the relegation zone after winning just two of their 13 games this season.

In a statement, Wazito said that Kimanzi will be leaving together with his assistant John Kamanu and goalkeepers’ trainer Samuel Koko with youth team coach Fred Ambani taking over the role on an interim basis until a permanent coach can be found.

“We can confirm that head coach Francis Kimanzi, his assistants Jeff Odongo and John Kamau, and the goalkeepers’ coach Samuel Koko have left the club. we wish them well in their future endeavors.

“Youth team head coach Fred Ambani assumes first-team duties in the interim with immediate effect,” the statement added.

Kimanzi joined Wazito in November 2020 in the wake of the sacking of Fred Ambani, assistant coach Babu Salim, and goalkeeper trainer Elias Otieno.
