Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has tipped midfielder Scott McTominay to captain the club in the future.
McTominay has been constantly criticized by a section of United fans but he has been a consistent figure in the first team since his debut under Jose Mourinho and scored the lone goal that saw them get to the next round of the FA Cup on Monday night.
“He now also starts scoring goals and also with some leadership skills. I wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple of years he would be the captain of this team,” Rangnick said of the midfielder after the Villa game.
Manchester United have scored four goals in their last three games across all competitions.

The Scotland international has been given more license to push forward under Rangnick. This has paid dividends with two goals in his last three appearances across all competitions.
