Everton’s left-back Lucas Digne is in advance talks with Premier League side Aston Villa.
The Frenchman had fallen out with manager Rafa Benitez who revealed that the player wanted out with the player said to have questioned his manager’s tactics following a poor run in the league.
While Digne was linked with a move away, his desire was to stay in the Premier League with Sky Sports claiming that Aston Villa are in “advanced negotiations” with the player’s representative.
#avfc look to have beaten comp from #cfc #whufc & #nufc – now in advanced negotiations with #efc for Lucas Digne.
Chelsea have not pursued initial interest. Digne prefers Villa over other options.

West Ham, Newcastle, and Chelsea were the other clubs linked with the player but the latter is said to be keen on recalling Emerson w=from his loan spell to fill the void left by the injured Chilwell.
Should Digne move to Villa Park, he will become the second player to join the club this January after the side confirmed the loan signing of midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
