Saka

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes the fact that Bukayo Saka has been linked with a move to Liverpool is a “positive indicator.”

The England international has continued his upward trajectory at the Emirates, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 20 Premier League appearances this season.

According to a recent report, Saka could be tempted by a move to Liverpool, and Arteta has taken the conjecture as a compliment to his side’s efforts.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Arteta said: “I think that’s great news when you have a lot of talk and people willing for you players, it’s a really good sign.

“They should be proud because that means they are doing extremely good work. I am really happy with Bukayo, and with what he’s doing, with how he’s development, and the importance he has on the team.

“Most importantly with the impact that he’s able to make in each game. This is something that we want to keep improving in each game, because he has the capacity to do it.”

Saka signed a new contract with Arsenal in the summer of 2020 and his current term expires in two and a half years.

Since graduating from the Gunners’ Hale End program, the 20-year-old has accumulated 18 goals and 25 assists in 110 appearances.
