Arsenal have bowed out of the FA Cup following a 1-0 loss away to Nottingham Forest on Sunday evening.
Lewis Grabban scored the only goal of the match in the 83rd minute, after getting some space inside the box to meet a beautiful cross and fire the ball inside the back of the net.
Arteta made seven changes to the side that lost to Manchester City, with 18-year-old midfielder Charlie Patino making his first-ever start.
The Gunners controlled the match from the first whistle but failed to make any meaningful attack as both sides failed to register even a single shot on target.
This is the second time in the past 26 years the Gunners have failed to make it past the third round of the FA Cup – and once again Nottingham Forest – as they were in 2018 – were their nemeses.
With the match entering its final 10 minutes, the hosts got the only goal of the match as Grabban – who had only been on the pitch for 15 minutes – converted well at the far post from Ryan Yates’ cross.
The loss means the Gunners have only two competitions to focus on – the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.
The Gunners’ next match will see them take on Liverpool in teh Carabao Cup clash that was postponed last week.
