Hayao Kwabe

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of a Japanese midfielder by the name of Hayao Kwabe from FC Zurich.

Wolves announced the deal on Wednesday where it was confirmed that the 26-year-old put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The English Premier League side added to reveal that a decision was made to keep Kawabe at Zurich on loan until the end of the season.

“The Japanese international midfielder signs from FC Zurich on a three-and-a-half-year deal,” Wolves reported.

“Hayao is expected to return on loan to complete the season in Switzerland after spending January in the Black Country.

“In his 18 appearances in Switzerland, Kawabe has scored four and assisted three from an attacking midfield role and netted on his last outing for the club against FC Basel before Christmas,” Wolves added.

Meanwhile, Bruno Lage’s side are training to take on Sheffield United in an FA Cup third-round battle this weekend.
