Arsenal have been hit with a £20,000 fine by the FA after they accepted their misconduct charge in their defeat to Manchester City.
Arsenal players swarmed the center referee in the 59th minute after defender Gabriel was sent off for a foul on Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian picked up the second yellow card in a span of two minutes as City went on to claim a 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium.
“Arsenal FC has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20.1 following its Premier League game against Manchester City on Saturday (01/01/22),” a statement on the FA Spokesperson’s Twitter page read.
“It is alleged that Arsenal FC failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 59th minute and the club has until Friday (07/01/22) to respond.”
Gabriel is now set to serve his ban on Sunday and will miss the club’s FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest.
