This should not surprise anyone really. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is linked with an exit out of Arsenal, and Newcastle want the Gabonese star.
The 32-year-old’s future with the Gunners seems all but over after Mikel Arteta decided to remove the captaincy armband of him following repeated disciplinary breaches.
Aubameyang has not worn the Arsenal jersey ever since then. A report from the Mirror has now suggested Newcastle United are ready to pounce.
“Newcastle want Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan – with a view to a £20million summer deal,” the report said.
“The relegation-threatened Magpies have sounded out the Gunners about taking the 32-year-old striker for the rest of the season including an option to make the move permanent.”
Meanwhile, Aubameyang is fully focused on Gabon’s 2022 AFCON tournament which begins in Cameroon next week.
