Ralf Rangnick has confirmed Anthony Martial’s desire to leave the club next year.
The Frenchman’s agent previously stated that the 26-year-old was looking for new pastures following his struggles to earn starts for the Red Devils this season. (More on this)
Rangnick initially dismissed Martial’s representative’s comments, but the German has since revealed that the former Monaco sensation is eager to move on.
“Anthony wants to go. He told me he feels it is the right time for a change,” BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone quotes Rangnick as saying.
“This is understandable. As far as I know, there has been no offer from another club. As long as this is the case, he will stay.”
Prior to the January transfer window, Martial has been linked with moves to Barcelona, Sevilla, and Newcastle United, although the Magpies have reportedly decided against a winter move.
The striker has 79 goals and 50 assists in 268 appearances for Manchester United, but has only one goal in ten appearances this season.
