Laliga giants Real Madrid are monitoring the situation of defender Joe Gomez at Liverpool.
Gomez has fallen below the pecking order at Anfield after returning from a long injury layoff with reports rife that he wants out this January so as to boost his chances of making the England 2022 World Cup squad.
The Daily Mail now reports that Real Madrid are one of the clubs interested in the player but they want to move for him next summer as they continue to look for a new center back for the team.
The player has strongly been linked with a loan move to Aston Villa next month where Steven Gerrard is said to be keen on bringing him at Villa Park to help him tighten his defense.

Gomez who joined Liverpool from Charlton Athletic in June 2015 has had his battles with a spate of injuries including two knee injuries that kept him out for most of his first two seasons with the Reds.
The arrival of Ibrahima Konate has hurt the 24-year old’s prospects with the Englishman featuring in just ten games for Liverpool this season, totaling 426 minutes of game-time.
