Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has refused to give any assurance about Pierre Aubameyang’s availability in their next game against Norwich.

Aubameyang has not been part of the Arsenal squad since being stripped of the captaincy earlier in the month and when asked if the player will be available for selection in their next game, Arteta said he will decide before the game.

“We will go game by game. We will decide the squad as we get closer to the game,” Arteta said after they beat Sunderland on Tuesday night to book a semi-final date in the Carabao Cup.

Another issue that has been the topic for Arteta is Alexander Lacazette’s future at the club and when asked about the Frenchman, the Spaniard said he was happy with how the player was performing.

“We are really happy with the way he’s performing and acting. He has to continue like this,” Arteta added.

Arsenal have come through a rough patch and have now picked up three wins in a row to climb to fourth in the Premier League table and four points clear of West Ham, who have played one game less.

However, both Manchester United and Tottenham can overtake Arsenal should the pair win their games in hand.
