Premier League fixtures during the Christmas and New Year will go on as planned.
This follows Monday’s meeting between the clubs and the Premier League officials where the idea of postponing the fixtures was rejected.
A surge in new Covid-19 cases has threatened to halt all action, with as many as six matches postponed this past weekend.
The league was not in support of postponing matches, and majority of the clubs backed the idea despite many of the clubs missing up to seven players who tested positive the past few days.
As of now, a total of 10 Premier League matches have been postponed due to the rise in the cases, which has threatened to undo all the gains made in the last couple of months.
