Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has blamed referee Paul Tierney for their 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The game had a lot of flare with the Reds losing defender Andy Robertson to a red card and Klopp wasn’t happy after Harry Kane wasn’t sent off on an earlier challenge on the Scotsman.

The German believed that the ref has been against him and his side, as he made a clear statement that he believed this issue was personal.

“These situations are crucial and they are decisive situations … the ref and the VAR does not say a word. I have no problem, I think in the beginning we had some – I was a bit more emotional in the games but it’s not allowed in a situation like this,” Klopp said after the game.

The draw leaves Liverpool in the second position with 41 points, three below leaders Manchester City who had earlier thumped Newcastle United.
