England’s Nations League match against Italy in June will be played behind closed doors as a punishment for the two teams’ altercation at the Euro 2020 Final.

UEFA announced the Nations League fixture schedule on Friday, following England’s grouping with Italy, Germany, and Hungary.

The Hungarian FA has been banned from stadiums for three matches following unrest at the Puskas Arena during Euro 2020, and this means that the English side will also be without their supporters.

England will begin next June with away games against Germany and Hungary, followed by home games against Italy and Hungary.

In September, they will face Italy on the road and Germany at home, games that Southgate will use to prepare for the winter World Cup in Qatar.

UEFA imposed a two-match stadium ban on the FA, with one match suspended for two years, in the aftermath of the Euro 2020 Final debacle at Wembley. Additionally, the FA was fined €100,000 (£85,000).
