Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown praised Antonio Rudiger as a supremely aggressive number five in the English Premier League.
Following the latest star performance in the 3-2 win over Leeds United last weekend, where Rudiger remarkably won two penalty kicks, Kwoewn has underlined the German’s class.
“He’s a real driving force for Chelsea – I love watching him play,’ Keown told BBC’s Match of the Day, according to Metro.
“I was an aggressive defender myself, but I think this guy takes it to another level.
“When he gets the ball, he likes to run forward,’ Keown added. ‘The fans love him there because he makes things happen.
According to Keown, Chelsea would not be as solid as they are without the German number five.
“Defensively – he’s so aggressive. He just shuts the door. So aggressive, strong, and he really leads from the back.
“He’s a nuisance to play against and he’s been outstanding for them,” Keown concluded.
Up next for the Blues is the visit of Everton to West London on Thursday.
