Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal has announced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been stripped of the captaincy and will not be available for tomorrow’s game against West Ham United.

“Following his latest disciplinary breach last week, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will no longer be our club captain, and will not be considered for selection for Wednesday’s match against West Ham United,” a statement from the club read.

Aubameyang missed Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Southampton over the weekend due to what Mikel Arteta described as a “disciplinarily breach”.

“We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed. We are fully focused on tomorrow’s match,” the statement concluded.

This isn’t the first time the former Borussia Dortmund man has been disciplined by the club and Arteta as he was also dropped from the north London derby in March after reporting late for a team meeting.
