Egypt superstar and Liverpool goal-machine Mohamed Salah has revealed how he motivates himself: Telling himself he is the best in the globe.

The conversation about Salah’s incredible level has intensified after he only managed a seventh-place finish in the 2021 Ballon d’Or ranking.

Asked recently about how much he deserves to be one of the winners in the coming Ballon d’Or awards, Salah said he already regards himself as the best in the world.

“At the end of the day, it’s people’s opinions, but in my mind, I’m the best player in the world, that’s what I say to myself,” he told MSC Masr TV.

“I can’t say that I don’t want to win the Ballon d’Or or FIFA’s The Best, of course, I want to win either of them.

“But if I don’t win either of them, there is no problem. Everything I want, I usually get.

“I know that I will win either of them later, I’m not worried,” he concluded.

Coming up next for Salah and Liverpool is the visit of Newcastle United at Anfield this Thursday.
