Aston Villa has become the latest Premier League club to be hit by the Covid outbreak.

The club detected several positive cases among those who work at their training ground as reported by the Mirror with one case being a member of the playing staff.

Villa are set to take on Norwich on Tuesday, and that game should go ahead, but their most recent opponents Liverpool may be anxious to discover if the virus was transmitted to any of their players during the game.

The news comes just a day after Manchester United was forced to abandon their Sunday training due to a Covid scare with their match against Brentford now in limbo following the revelations.

The outbreak saw the weekend game against Tottenham and Brighton postponed after the latter recorded some positive cases in their team.
