Ralf Rangnick is keen to bring RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara to Manchester United.
Haidara signed for Leipzig on a season-long loan-back agreement in 2018 and the Bundesliga side is concerned about a release clause in his contract according to Daily Mirror.
Rangnick signed Haidara at Leipzig to replace Naby Keita – who joined Liverpool following a season-long loan-back agreement in 2018 – and now wants to sign the Malian midfielder at United.
Haidara reportedly has a release clause in his contract and Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff is aware of interest in the player.
Speaking to Sport Witness, Mintzlaff said: “Of course, [Haidara] is also a player that Ralf Rangnick loves. There is nothing burning now for the time being.
“[We are looking to] bring about a different situation [over Haidara’s] exit scenario.”
Mintzlaff then went on to reveal Leipzig are looking to secure Haidara on a new contract which will see his current release clause scrapped and hand more power to the club in regards to a possible transfer.
