Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has said he is wholly focused on his job at Derby County.

The legendary Premier League former star has been the subject of rumours that point him to a return to the Red Devils following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Derby manager has since offered a comment on the reports.

“As I’ve said before, I’m committed to this football club until someone above me tells me otherwise,” he said as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

“I speak to people at Manchester United on a regular basis so I’m sure if they were to come calling it would have already happened.

“I’m committed to Derby County and until someone says ‘You’re not welcome to be the manager here’, I’m here,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, United have a UEFA Champions League battle against Villarreal on Tuesday at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
