Mason Mount

England international midfielder Mason Mount is set to sign a new long-term deal with Chelsea after a breakthrough year.

There were reports that emerged earlier in the week that Mount was unhappy at the Bridge due to lack of game time but that has been explained to him as Tuchel wants to manage the player well to prevent burnout.

The 22-year-old had a sterling performance with the Blues last season and according to The Football Insider, his camp is ready to listen to the club after rumors linked him to Man City, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich in recent weeks.

A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that the club are in talks with Mount, and all parties are positive the deal on the table will now be accepted.

The player’s current deal with the Thomas Tuchel side will expire in the summer of 2024 with Chelsea valuing him at ¬£70m should he want to move.

After removing some of his teeth during the international break, a move that saw him sit out of England games against Albania and San Marino, Mount returned to Chelsea’s starting XI in the 3-0 win over¬†Leicester City¬†at the weekend.
