Luis Enrique

Luis Enrique has laughed off rumours linking him to the vacant Man United post.

The managerial seat at Old Trafford became vacant on Sunday morning after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked following their 4-1 loss at Watford on Saturday.

The former Barcelona manager and current Spain national team manager is one of the few coaches who have been linked with teh job, but laughed it off when asked on Sunday.

“Is today April Fools’ Day?” he is said to have asked when asked by La Sexta.

Cristiano Ronaldo and a few other Man United players reportedly prefer Enrique to Zinedine Zidane, who is among the favourites.

In the meantime, Michael Carrick will take charge of the team until a suitable replacement is found.

Carrick’s upcoming fixtures this coming week are away clashes at Villarreal, in the Champions League, before a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on league leaders, Chelsea.
