This is not a story case that will come around often. A female footballer has simply been accused of being a man by the Jordan Football Association.
The JFA has accused Zohreh Koudaei of being a male rather than a woman. The FA’s Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein sent a formal letter to the Asian Football Confederation to investigate the Iran women’s team goalkeeper.
The complaint has followed after the accused saved two decisive penalties in September that sent Iran to the 2022 Women’s Asian Cup.
“We duly acknowledge article 47 of the AFC Women’s Asia Cup India 2022 Competition Regulations, and understand that gender verification is not mandatory for participating players,” the letter reads, according to GiveMeSport.
“However, the article reserves the right for AFC to initiate a transparent and clear investigation by a panel of independent medical experts to investigate the eligibility of the player in question and others on the team.”

It now remains to be seen how the bizarre and rather sensitive case will be concluded.
