Van Bronckhorst

Former Dutch international Giovanni van Bronckhorst is close to replacing Steven Gerrard at Scottish giants Rangers FC.

Rangers had been forced to dive into the market for a new manager after Gerrard left them to join Premier League side Aston Villa last week.

Sky Sports says a decision has been made to appoint van Bronckhorst as Gerrard’s successor with the Dutchman set to return to his former stomping ground after spending three seasons as a player at Ibrox before going on to succeed with Arsenal and Barcelona.

It isn’t the Dutchman’s first managerial job too as he has handled Feyenoord in his native country before where he helped them to the Eredivisie title in 2016.
