Laliga giants FC Barcelona have parted ways with technical secretary Ramon Planes on mutual consent.
Both parties agreed to terminate their association on Tuesday with the 54-year-old having been part of the team since 2018.
He served as Sporting Director at several clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Rayo Vallecano, Getafe, and was an important part of the Catalans’ recruitment set up in recent years where he played a key role in the acquisitions of players like Ronald Araujo and Pedri.
“FC Barcelona and Ramón Planes have reached an agreement to terminate the contract that bound both parties until 30 June 2022, at the request of the man who had until now been the club’s technical secretary.

“The club wishes to publicly express its gratitude to Ramón Planes for his commitment, professionalism, and contributions throughout this last two years, and wishes him the best of luck and every success in the future,” a statement from Barcelona noted.
Club legend Carles Puyol has been rumored to be interested in the job but Marc Overmars, who has been the AFC Ajax director, is the favorite.
