England boss Gareth Southgate has revealed that he has AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori in his plans.
The player has been superb for AC Milan where they are currently joint top of the Serie A table but didn’t get a call up in the latest England setup.
“Fikayo we really like, he’s playing really well. We think he’s one of three or four young center-backs we’ve got who can challenge the four who’ve been with us.
“We kept continuity with the guys we had over the summer, but over the next 12 months there are younger players we’ve got to look at closely, give opportunities to and can challenge for places,” Southgate said of Tomori.
“My father watched football in the 80s and 90s when #ACMilan won the #ChampionsLeagues and was the best team in the world, it’s crazy for him. I’m happy and grateful to be here.” pic.twitter.com/gIMTjqU3c3

Southgate had Tyrone Mings, Conor Coady, and Harry Maguire as his options in defense for the games against San Marino and Albania but there is a belief that the squad will change when they arrive for the World Cup in Qatar next year.
